The weather’s getting chilly, the days are getting shorter, and honestly, all we want to do is curl up with a good book. But what if we took our reading time on a little adventure around London instead, turning an ordinary train ride into something a little more magical, one stop and one chapter at a time?

On Saturday, 14 November, we’re swapping our cozy reading nooks for a train carriage and inviting you to join us for a little reading date on the rails. We’ll meet at a London station, hop aboard, and settle into our books as the city rolls by outside the window.

No small talk required while the books are open, no pressure to reach a certain page count, and no need to be a fast reader. Just a shared journey, a good story, and the quiet comfort of being surrounded by people who love getting lost in a book as much as you do.
Our book for the day is Stations by Louise Kennedy, one of The New York Times’ most anticipated novels of autumn 2026. Set in 1980s Ireland, it follows Róisín and Red, two teenagers whose fierce connection follows them into adulthood, through distance, diverging paths, and the years they can never get back. It’s a story of friendship, longing, and the ties that refuse to loosen, even as life pulls people in different directions.
And because every reading date deserves a little something special, 12 lucky attendees will receive a FREE hardback copy of Stations, courtesy of Bloomsbury! Once those copies are claimed, you’re still very welcome to join us with a book of your own. Both ticket options are completely free, so whether you’re picking up a new story or bringing along an old favorite, there’s a seat on this literary adventure for you.

Once our reading journey comes to an end, we’ll hop off at our final destination and enjoy a little social time together. And, of course, no adventure would be complete without a keepsake! We’ll be taking vintage-style photo strips inspired by the Stations book cover — a little memento of the stories we shared, the places we went, and the lovely people we met along the way.
