Base Membership

Service fees vary from $5-$45 per night based on the location and length of your stay. Month-long stays start at just $8/night!  There is no fee required for registration. 

Kindred Passport‍

Members who purchase Kindred Passport will enjoy $0 in service fees for all trips they book within one year of purchase, regardless of length and location of stay! The cost is $600 for an annual Passport membership and Members can choose to pay that amount upfront, or elect to pay it in 4 quarterly installments of $165/quarter. (For the avoidance of doubt, this is not a quarterly membership, but an annual membership paid over time.)

North America Founding Members

Our founding members in the US, Canada and Mexico (you know who you are!) will pay a flat $50 service fee per trip until further notice.

Europe Founding Members

Our founding members in the EU and UK (you also know who you are!) will enjoy $0 in service fees until further notice.

Cleaning fee:

  • To maintain a high quality experience for both guest and host, guests are required to pay for two cleanings: one cleaning before the trip and one cleaning after the trip.
  • This facilitates a consistently clean and comfortable experience for both guests and hosts..  
  • The cleaning fee varies based on destination, trip length, bedroom count, and in some locations, season. The specific cleaning fee to be charged will be disclosed before a member makes a reservation.

Credits:

  • Kindred is a give-to-get marketplace. Here, every member is both a guest and a host. The members who get the most are not those who pay the most, but those who host the most. Kindred members contribute, participate, and take an active role in their own experiences – they don’t just consume – and they are earnestly excited when they get to connect with each other (and share their spaces).
  • Give a night, get a night: One credit equals one night at a member’s home. One credit will be used for each night that you stay in another member’s home. For each night you host, you earn a credit.  
  • For reciprocal swaps (two members swap homes over the same timeframe), no credits are used.
  • Credits are not fungible, they may not be traded for cash and cannot be exchanged with or gifted to other members.  
  • A member may use their credits to arrange a Kindred stay for immediate family members (“Authorized Users”) (e.g. spouse, partner, parent). As always, the Host maintains the authority to approve any Member or Authorized User for a proposed stay. And, as a reminder, all individuals staying overnight with the Member must be disclosed and approved as per the Member Code of Conduct and the Terms of Service.  The Member remains responsible for all activities that occur under the member’s account.

How to earn credits:

When you are accepted!

When you apply to become a member and are accepted, you will receive 5 credits. 

Host a guest!

For non-reciprocal swaps, you earn 1 credit for each night a guest stays at your home. You can then use these credits to reserve Kindred stays as a guest.

Refer a friend!

Refer a friend to join Kindred using your personal invite code, and once they have uploaded home photos and Kindred has verified those photos, you will earn 2 credits.
